Unfinished Holiday Card, Yay!

I didn't have time to finish it so here is an exclusive preview of a possible Holiday card that may or may not be ready for 2013.  :)

WIP for Letter I

Here is a work in progress for Letter I. I originally intended to paint the whole book in watercolor but I wanted to do a test page digitally to see if I like it painted this way better. I am faster, better and more comfortable working digitally but I love watercolor too. Argh! Still need to finish up the imp, the foreground, and genie smoke. Letter G is all set up for watercolor but I haven't had time. :)

New B Sketch and J, K, L, T and Title Page Updates

I redesigned the B page so you can see the brownie better and I updated a bunch of other pages with some value.

Title page creatures are an Alkonost, a Basilisk, and a Cadejo.

Still debating whether I should watercolor the whole book or do it in photoshop.  :(

Illustration for the Recess contest for SCBWI Illustrator's Day. I didn't win but I had a good time. :)

You had to include apples, buffalo, telescope, blanket and hay and the theme was Recess.

I am going to SCBWI Illustrator's Day and I want to have a postcard take away with my portfolio. Hopefully I can finish it and have time to get it printed. :) 

Color Studies for G

Here are some color studies for Letter G and a close-up of the final drawing on watercolor paper. I originally wanted the color scheme of B but now I am leaning toward A. Let me know what you think. :)

I retouched some of my Alice in Wonderland work and I did a new spot sketch and a facial expressions page for Alice. I am working on my children's book portfolio.  :)
